Frequently Asked Questions

What is Capstar/Nextstar?

Capstar is a rapid-acting flea killer. It works within 30 minutes. However, it only kills Adult Fleas and is not a preventative. This is an oral medication.

Nextstar is also rapid-acting and works within 5 minutes. It is produced by Capstar. Nextstar kills all stages of fleas; it also kills ticks and keeps mosquitos and chewing lice away. This is topical.

How much does Nextstar/Capstar cost?

Both cost approx. $39.99.

What are your service areas?

For dog walking and drop-ins, I service some of SATX. I service from east of 281 for SATX (Alamo Heights, Hollywood Park, East Side, Highland Park, Pecan Valley, etc) Cibolo, Selma, Live Oak, Universal City, Schertz, Saint Hedwig, Converse, Windcrest, Kirby, and China Grove. If you think you may be just outside of the district or service area, please contact me and I can let you know.

I accept Boarding and Daycare from all over the SATX area plus my service areas.

Are you flexible on pricing or do discounts?

Currently no. This is my source of income and with inflation, I also have to provide for myself, the wear and tear on my car, as well as the gas to and from each location. I do view my business as more than a job and an income, your babies will be treated with love and care just as I would treat my own.

What is a Meet and Greet?

Good question. It is an opportunity for you to meet me and go over things such as feedings, playtime, changing of kitty litter, dos/don’ts, etc. Overall this ensures we are a good fit :)

For boarding and daycare it is the same but to also ensure that four-legged friends get along and that there will be safety for everyone! We will meet in a neutral spot so one does not claim territory.

This is a great time to ask questions or concerns if you have any.

Will you send me pictures?

Yes! Every service comes with at least one picture as well as a report card on how your baby did for me that day!

For boarding or daycare, what do I need to bring?

We have just about everything covered! I do ask that you bring a crate if your pup will be spending the night as well as their food. We don’t want any upset tummies! Bring things that might also make them feel more comfortable. Also note, that we may go out on trails during the cooler months so please bring a harness. I do not allow multiple families to stay in my house during boarding for safety. So no worries there!

Will you be home with my pup the whole time?

No. I do walk regularly however, your pup will be at my house with other four-legged friends (my pups) while I’m out walking. No worries though! I am generally not gone more than 4-5 hours at a time.

Do you walk all year round?

Yes! I walk in the sun, rain, or snow! As long as your pup will walk in the rain, so will I. I don’t mind walking in the rain. Please just have a towel for him/her somewhere I can locate to dry them off for you.

Do you walk multiple dogs at once?

Of course! I have four dogs. I walk them all at once by myself.

What is your cancellation policy?

For Boarding: 24-hour notice, anything after 24 hours no refund will be issued.

Daycare: Same Day Cancellation with at least a 2-hour notice before drop off.

Walking: Same Day Cancellation no time limit.

Drop-Ins: Same Day Cancellation with 2-hour notice.

There is no requirement for a policy for a time limit on bookings. I accept last-minute bookings as long as the meet and greet with you (boarding, daycare, or cat drop-ins) have been completed before the stay and there is not already a family booked for that current slot for boarding.

I see you have a cat, my dog doesn’t get along with cats. Is that ok?

Yes! That is fine. Piper has plenty of hiding places and I have baby gates up in my home to keep her protected and safe to give her a safe space.

Do you allow dogs on your furniture?

Well, that’s a silly one :) of course, I do! My dogs are on my couch and my bed all the time.

Will my dog get exercise while at your home?

Yes, they will be able to free-roam my house when I am home and I have a fenced-in backyard for them to run off energy. I have plenty of outside toys for them to play with and I also set up a kiddie pool for warmer Texas days. I do at least an hour a day of playtime with my dogs because two of them are high-energy. I have a coonhound/ridgeback mix that constantly needs to be engaged with activity.

When you’re not home, will my dog be outside?

No, your pup will be safe inside the comfort of my home while I’m away doing my walks. I never leave my pups unattended outside when I’m not home. This not only poses a safety risk to my pups but can pose a safety risk to the public if they happen to get out. Other people don’t know my pups and while they might be microchipped, not everyone takes furry friends to check for one. I would never take the risk of someone losing their family member and possibly never being reunited again. Plus, my pups are too bougie to stay outside for more than ten minutes unless it’s play time, they like the AC too much.
